(Young and Mature Methodist Social) — A Fellowship Group

If you would like an opportunity to get to know others you see in church but don't really know, YAMMS may be a great opportunity to meet and chat over a meal.

During the regular school year, YAMMS meets on the 2nd or 3rd Friday of the month at 6:00 pm in Epworth Hall. We usually meet the 2nd Friday but change the date to the 3rd if there is a serious conflict with some other church or community event.

Families are always welcome and we have high chairs available for little ones. Our purpose is purely to nurture the body and mind with good food and great social exchange. Each family or individual interested in attending is encouraged to bring a favorite dish to share. There is no assigned list for deserts, salads, side dishes, or entree's—we take our chances on a balanced diet.

We actively recruit hosts for each evening event and the hosts usually provide the condiments and make the coffee and tea. If you wish to come, we ask that you notify the FUMC office or a listed host about how many are in your group. This way, we can set up enough place settings for everyone. Our gatherings usually ranged from 20 to 60 people.

Generally we do not have a planned program since the primary purpose of the Potluck is to get better acquainted with each other. Occasionally, someone offers to put on a special program (including music) and these are welcome as a bonus.
We hope you will join us regularly for great fellowship and a good meal.
